On Friday 12th September 2014 under very favourable weather circumstances the first bridge span of the new Botlek Bridge crossing the Oude Maas river near Hoogvliet, The Netherlands, was sailed in. The bridge span loaded on a pontoon was towed by the Kotug tugs RT MAGIC and RT SPIRIT. A piece of precision work that had to be carried out on a centimetre clearance. The next morning the bridge span was sailed in and placed. The second span is towed in two weeks later with again the same precision millimeter work.
