On the 2nd July the shoalbuster ITC MELTEMI (IMO nr 9531624) has been sold and renamed ANTELOPE. The vessel has been delivered to new owners, Oseberg Venture Ltd., Switzerland; we wish them fair winds. The ANTILOPE has the St Vincent & Grenadines flag with call sign J8B5109. She is underway to Lagos with a bunkercall at Algeciras.
The vessel's hull was built in Poland for and completed at the Damen Shipyard, Hardinxveld, The Netherlands as yn 1596. The ITC MELTEMI was delivered to International Transport Contractors (later Tschudi Offshore & Towage BV) in 2008. She is a Damen Shoalbuster type 2609, grt 212, with a length of 26.02 mtrs, a beam of 9.10 mtrs and a depth of 3.60 mtrs. The two Caterpillar 3508B-TA diesel engines develope a total output of 1,642 kW (2,232 bhp), providing a speed of 11.5 knots and a bollard pull of 29.5 tons (photo: ITC).
